Tear

Tear

A Poem by Alice Thompson
"

Emotions when living oceans away from one's home.

"

You know when you cry so much that your head feels like a baked, cracked rock in the Sahara desert,
(Is that point of your tears not a blessing?)
As with it brings the purifying numbness, much like a damp towel lain over your face.

A fractured oasis replaces the effortful sobbing,

That simply in terms of energy is much easier to maintain.

However even the most effortful sobs cannot fully eradicate the intoxicating gloom.

Or is your melancholy slow ebb of jealousy?
Perhaps it is stringent like a skillet to the heart,

Bringing you down to the chewing gum pasted floor.

Sadness comes in many forms but tears do not,

The drops not unlike pearls fall unanimously indifferent to their calling.
Encompassing the ideals of a laity, as they lead out their role without a single doubt.

If we cannot see the beauty in our, life then at least we can reflect on the perfection of tear.
