Number the Scars

Number the Scars

A Poem by Alison Harmer

Within the night sky

I see so many stars

No definite number

Just like my scars

They are covered

Underneath layers they hide

Away from prying eyes

Here my secrets reside

They drag me down

And hold me tight

A crushing grip

But I still fight

Even when hope fades

I still hold on

Waiting for the day

That the pain is gone

I hope that writing these wonderful poems, prevent self harm. Such a bad place to be in, I myself was suicidal, NEVER GIVE UP, there is HOPE, and HAPPINESS. Anything I could do to help you I will. Thank you for sharing such powerful emotions with us. Great writing.
