Undone

Undone

A Poem by Alisa Js

maybe it was the way your words glowed
so full of promise,
wrapping them around my heart
I wondered why I didn't feel warmth
didn't feel the need I was certain existed
between every syllable around every context
how could there not be?
I heard it
I listened
and still, no heat

you said it
I believed it

I trusted

somehow you tossed it

maybe somewhere around your endless braggadocio
gibber, jabber
bloviation
what?

why bother with blowhards
empty headed at best
babbling on about drivel till sunset...

I love how it makes you feel something. That's how you know it is pure art.

Great minds... Ha.
I do understand being "Undone"...
Disappointment is the flower of expectations seeds.
Acceptance mends and is the "tie that binds".

Alisa, So often someone we meet comes across as charming, fascinating...until you've seen their act over and over again. The bloom is then officially removed from the rose. So many people concentrate so much on making that great first impression that they forget that impressions exist beyond the first. When the rubber hits the road the true impressions are revealed...warts and all. You have a very strong and able style, I'll definitely stop back. In the meantime I will send a friend request and hope that you accept. (Your first impression...great!) take care...dan (my real name, not riki)

~~ a terrific piece, dear alisa... ~~ it's a chilling account of how someone who is skilled in the art of making his words "glow" can give us the completely wrong impression... and yet... somehow... subconsciously at least... we do see the signs... rather sense them... ~~ and then when we look back, we are able to join the dots consciously as well... ~~ these days, my mind is on red alert... ~~ if it turns out that i've been scammed, i'm gonna not disintegrate... ~~ i won't allow anyone to demolish me... ~~ this is a very empowering write for me...

sometimes when you unwrap the words, there is absolutely nothing of substance behind them.

better to leave the wrapping paper and bows on those words, and just have fun guessing what's inside.

Because opening the package draws disappointment.
