Endless Cycles

Endless Cycles

A Poem by Alisa Js

we've been here before
standing under this downpour
caustic rants and needless revivals
of lectures and judgement
once thought long forgiven
and forgotten

and yet,
here we sit in the midst of it all
this pressure
this turmoil

it never stops.

and to think
I thought for certain there was sunlight
peeking with confidence
through all those long branches
of low hanging fruit

too much for the taking
I thought we knew better
and had moved way beyond this
restless
revival
of classic
betrayal

it never changes...

"...too much for the taking..." and taking for granted, the short-sightedness of love never fails to astound.

Aloha, Alisa.
I could feel this, and understand the thought behind it, at least so far as what I read into it.
it provokes a moodiness that matches a rainy day.
I like writing that leaves something for the imagination to ponder.
Good write.
