Distant Thoughts

and if you dared, would you

still be

around,

bracing our faces toward life's unpredictable storms

as we slide under the evening tides

side by side,

planning our mystical escapes

even if it's only hypothetical

at best.

quiet days around these

vacant rooms

where did all the ruckus go

conversations mute

vacant eyes,

tell me nothing

tell me everything ...

You're really good. The last lines are ominous and enigmatic and are what makes this piece so great.

love the ending...and the question of where all the ruckus did go...
a couple facing anything "bracing our faces toward life's unpredictable storms"--
and then conversations mute....vacant eyes.
how does that happen?

Your poetry just jumps off the page and slaps the reader in the face...in a very good way.

Sounds a little like a conversation with the inner state or the persona turned ego..that self that refuses to leave and guides us past the tougher streets and rooms where all our handles seem to be missing ..Okay first our little A seems to be writing and now you? Apocalypse?? A wonderful conversation and spooky as well when you consider those handles..thanks for the morning read!
