Memory

Memory

A Poem by Laz K.
"

You try to kill a memory but it only gets stronger and ends up consuming ("killing") you.

"

A river of thoughts

Flows in my head

And words drip-drop

To the page like

Blood from a broken nose

The Tree of Life is

Uprooted

Ripped from my center

You are

Gone

Nature abhors a vacuum, so

Where once you took root and

Used to live and grow and bloom

Now stands a deep, murky pool

Where I drown your memory daily

But your ghost haunts me still

Demanding a fair share of

Time from my time

Life from my life

From that black lake

It rises, I hear the

Silence increase

While I slowly sink

And soon cease

To be

Striking, imaginative use of imagery in this one. It really brings to life the feelings of loss.
