Divine Art

Divine Art

A Poem by Laz K.

To see a man truly,

Empty his world,

Free it of clutter, and

Hang him up like

A portrait in a

Grand, heavenly hall.

Strip him of his

Deceptive covers,

Take away his lovers,

Let him bury

His forefathers

Madonnas, saints,

And brothers.

Hopes and dreams

Must vanish and fade

Till he’s a bare

Figure of stark light

And dark shade.

Then, behold the man,

Pinned down, and

Nailed to a pure

White wall: a symbol,

A lesson, a mirror for all.

This is so good...I think we have to have lived life and suffered all of our defeats and lost all our material possessions except the body we were born with...and once our naked self is left...
do we still have our heart and soul? If we do...then the mirror will reflect the true person who has survived it all.
this is a deeply philosophical write.

"Ecce homo", but the poet invite the reader to "be the man." I hate being required to man up. Unpleasant business.

Stripped bare and without possessions. A man at his most vulnerable. He does however carry all life's experiences within him.. I see myself in an art gallery looking at a masterpiece in oils. I see a man with a heart and soul.
