Attrition

Attrition

A Poem by Laz K.

There was a tree in the garden

Branches gnarled, trunk thick,

Heavy-laden with fruit to pick.

But oh, a storm of violent winds

Tore into what was perfect, and

Left in mangled, broken, wrecked.

Now, I watch the blue skies with

Eyes of suspicion, bemoaning

My trust in heaven with attrition.
