Leaving the Herd

Leaving the Herd

Leaving the Herd

I left the herd
The instinct gone
On open land
I find what's lost
I am river
I am stream
I am mountain
That breeds a distinction in me
My soul joyous for the place I'm in
I have returned
I am of sacred hand.

I can just image the kind of culture we could have obtained had we heeded some of native american thinking, manners, etc.

thanks ft!

your piece addresses how we stray from ourselves over time and the only way to rediscover what we truly are is to withdraw from the herd...I left the city herd to graze upon rooted fields of solitude and I don't expect to ever return to the hustle and bustle of city life...great write, my friend - FT

The spirituality in this write is enchanting. Reminds me of Native American attitudes. We are one with the land.....indeed, we must take care of it as we take care of ourselves. Lydi**

There is a something special that reaches out from within ourselves to be heard by nature itself. I am a part of you, I am at one with you, we ascribe to freedom itself.

That sense of stillness and wonder one gets when she hikes among the hills. Spectacular:)
