LIKE LIGHTHOUSES SEARCHING

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Within the laws of nature
we all leave our mark
Waiting to be discovered
To come out from the dark.
To stand in the light
Sending signals blind
To attract that elusive mate
To continue the hereditary line.

dear Andrew... we were born to search for light... an adventure where we save our pleasure for prosperity. The depth of the ocean and the horizon of possibility become one and ripple into eternity. truly, Pat

'LIKE LIGHTHOUSES SEARCHING'
andrew mitchell,
Finding and hoping and searching for a mate- for someone we may have as well as love our whole life long is a decent and wonderful desire. Oft times it happens when we are not paying attention or searching. It is like the proverbial pot which does not come to a boil when we wait and wait. The thing is that the very work of living a good life and being busy with doing good to others and sharing oneself is the very stage where we meet people. Just thought I would throw in my bit.Lovely poem which gave me an excuse to analyze.
Bless you!
Kathy

The search for the lighthouse. All of us do. I like the tale told and the logical ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Hi Andrew. one of the things about your poetry that I really admire, is that you are so unafraid to explore new territory. Your writing changes meter and cadence at each writing. I'd like to see what you can do with the prompt for the contest, 'having fun with numbers'. Can I get you to take up the challenge??? Your style of poetry, I truly believe, is well suited to this prompt. Your poem here is wonderful and tells a story in few words, love that, alf

great metaphor and awesome write! To me it feels very strong and about our primal instants to continue our bloodline. (not sure if this is what you were going for but me and my weirdness took it that way)!
