One bad Apple

One bad Apple

A Poem by andrew mitchell

One bad apple.
He watched in horror
the apple of his eye
Earth, Mother
being chomped on.
United States left hanging,
torn from its moorings
chewed, as States
of sobriety fell like crumbs.
Gluttony finally removed.
The Middle East gnawed,
spat out for its envy,
the venomous scourge gone.
The Universe's Watchdog,
the Cosmic Giant
decided, all bad bits
had to be discarded.
Comets formed from ice cap's drips,
Europe now ligaments dangle
from the Earth's crust.
Polluted dust of lands, past
travel endlessly through space.
The remnants of a dark civilisation,
now orbital reminders
in Saturn's rings, waste.
All that was left,
the Earth's core
the disease removed,
Mankind.
Meanwhile, the women lived on Venus!
Men welcome, please apply.
The last Martian.

Haha. Loved the last lines of this poem, Andrew.

A serious insight into the plight of Earth and mankind, twisted delighfully at the poems end.

Well Done!

Thank you so much Doodley. glad you enjoyed!
This is so clever!
Quite a serious piece so I like the funny touch in the end. But without it, it is stunning.
