The drought.

The drought.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

While love breaks,
swept out
on waves of tidal change, now barren:
wind hollows
through carcass minds
having skeletal thoughts littered
across sunburnt plains
of synaptic endings
that held so much.

Time rolls
on shifting sands moving
to the heat of sundial shadows;
slowly protruding
from the wreckage,
the mirage smiles.

Very profound thoughts. Images of desolation...aftermath of civilization's demise?..." end of a love affair?..."love breaks, swept out on waves of tidal change, now barren"-finality. Absolutely brilliant poem- each line , image, impacts the soul. "Sunburnt plains of synaptic endings"-home-run line! Kudos my friend.
