Alone with the Grass

Alone with the Grass

A Poem by ambur

I'll drive down to the river,
And sit and wonder why
I ever said a single word,
Or why I took the stand.
Yet here I sit once again,
Hoping for this withered grass
To not be my only company.

Oh boy do I know this feeling... This is a very powerful poem despite its size, which I really like. It could be improved a bit, either with stronger words (such as "stood my ground" rather than "took the stand") or maybe a rhyme. But as is, this is a good write; very lonely and regretful.
