The Hare and Tortoise Chase

The Hare and Tortoise Chase

I'll lead you into the desert

Where sand and star collide.

Sitting under the purple sky;

A comet meets the cold stitch

sealed by a temptress' face.

Cog with gear,

Stuck in Lover's Waltz.

Erosion knocked down

A plane into a canyon;

Making skin look like

Jewelry on the waist of a ficus.

Close your eyes,

Travel back in time

Where youth bled like watercolor.

A clean canvas gilt in pearl.

Take petri into lens

And focus on a celluloid

Filtered in hazy light.

Trace the memory in the strand

Back into its theory.
