The Shallow

The Shallow

Baptize your cupid arrow

But not for display,

Keep it locked away

Where gossiping eyes

Can't melt it.

Dissect the flea ridden sin

And carry the key

For the book

Of you melodrama.

Tie your dreams to a kite

And let it float

Through the silver splinter

In the sea

With the scattered ripple-constellation.

Totems etched

In ground violet and rose.

Drink your potion

Of liquid crystal

To watch what happens

when your raft

comes into

The shallow.
