Twisters

Twisters

A Poem by Matt DeFranco
"

"Twisters" represents the allure of beautiful women their devices and power. Mingled with no resentment or directed to a particular woman.

"

I could see the blue..

In the sky

This grey though,

Caught my eye

What a beautiful place

What an ugly disguise

I flew like the dreams,

I had when I fly

This time though,

I was really alive

And the Zephyr ever,

Chartered the skies

I never even knew it was

Night

But man was it live

Being the vessel of

Emotion I can only

Attempt to describe...

I could see the blue in the sky

This grey though caught my eye

It only beat, my heart

And I could only see..

Paralyzed.

This tempest of my life

Was I dead?

Maybe so

"God I feel alive''

I could see the blue

In the sky

This grey though caught my eye..

Wait though

Was it blue..

Or green or brown?

It was her eyes

And then she funneled...

Into the sky

And I fell

From the night

The grey

The blue

The twisters,

In and out of our lives.

Another favourite. Relationships come and go, so fiercely sometimes. The whole poem just resonates with me, the metaphor of the eyes, the grey that inevitably comes. Thank you for writing

You describe a relationship that dips in and out of a vortex of swirling attraction like a cyclone that rises and falls with the blue and the grey - so full of passion, catching the onlooker and then taking him for the ride of his life, but then just as quickly, leaving him behind, perhaps like the wreckage of a twister, but memory of how wild it was!
A very creative take on being "swept away" by another!!
