Sight of My Soul

Sight of My Soul

A Poem by Matt DeFranco

My eyes a-light in darkness

Ingrained with faith and

love

And blink I do in brightness

Despite pride and fear I know

This blood pumps through my heart

Although it's crimson tone

No power in my words or voice

..or "INVINCIBLE EGO"

This strength of strain

This mind of of mine

No man can supersede

No intellect

Or power

Overshadows the spirit in me..

With all my imperfections, handicaps and maladies

I relish the man I am inside

Amorous

Though you may not always see

Revere myself not

Though the sky what limits me

For all my gifts and talents bestowed

Compare not......... to charity

Do I wane

to be amongst the grandiosity

A man who trades his soul for

World

To feed his seething greed

For the One I know

Who transcends life

That One I'll some day see

My brother's my sister's

Can't you see

We are but Kings and Queens

My brother's my sisters...

...what can I do for

Thee?

Glad to see more poems appearing here :) and what a great message this one seems to carry. Be of assistance to your neighbor, share the load, the gain and the love, do not lead a greedy life as a steadfast selfish man. We are all Kings and Queens, each-other's equals, worth the same. Nice write.
