Taken and Away

Taken and Away

A Poem by Matt DeFranco

I would feel myself at times
taken away
Indulged in all that appeals to
feeling
Settled in the morass of delusion
Cumbered with the completeness
of confusion
and away...
And the moonlight flickered
an ambiance of dismal and
delightful offerings

Within I recoiled,
partly taken and
away
I'd juggle the justice
and reasoning
taken over with
okay
and away...

Yet I felt as if I
knew,
far away but
through and through
And lo the embrace
of faith
even though what I
yearned for
was far away
from the foot I
placed
I was taken and
away with
shadows and
distaste
but I wrote inside
perhaps another day
and away,
perhaps another day
and away...
