Broken Glass

Broken Glass

A Poem by Matt DeFranco

I lay the broken glass
on the sand
where-unto shards at sea
of broken plan...

The world is behind me...
And I,
with my palms up,
am knee high.
As I blink the rain
that falls with sky
And still alive,
and still alive

I walk along the effervescent
shore
My toes feel the water
and my soul wants
more
And then warn,
and then mourn...

I'm drowning now and
taking every
breath
I see the shore
but all of me is wet.
And I let,
and I let...

Floating away
taken in to
the night
All I wanted was but
to feel the tide
and I cry,.
and I cry..

Then I awake
washed up with
weeds
strewn across the
brim ,
of the ocean of defeat
And I breathe,
and I breathe...

And the ground
draws my
attention,
the broken glass once laid
now just sand with new inception

About
A great writer is not always so eloquent with his words, not always the best orator, not even the most profound within literacy; but one who is led by his pen through the inspiration of the heart. One.. more..
