No End In Sight

No End In Sight

A Poem by Hold Fast Hope

I swore I'd never set foot back in this place again

But promises are meant for breaking.

The bus has taken its course.

My mind is raging with thoughts.

And my heart is racing faster than I can count the beats.

Lay your mind out like tarot cards reading your fate.

It's time to settle the score.

The taste of your lips lingers like a bad kiss waiting to be forgotten.

The bus keeps passing through cities with no end in sight.

At one point I thought I had this all figured out.

I would say goodbye and turn my back like you turned on me

But I know it wouldn't end as simple as that.

You're a poison that medicine could never cure.

And I'm running to find some kind of alternative to help cope with the pain.

This is a book of lies and false hopes.

So, I'll tear out these pages tonight.

You were a warning sign on the side of the road.

A warning to me that this was coming, but I was blinded to see it.

Very very emotional piece. You displayed the feelings so well and I think the words you used really helped that. Nicely written.
