JUST FORGET IT! (Oops, I did)

JUST FORGET IT! (Oops, I did)

A Poem by angel
"

about the rush of society and the benefits of misbehaving

"
Life is so short, to borrow a line
Yet it will bring you down if you let it.
My prescription will heal your heart, make you feel fine;
The miracle cure? JUST FORGET IT!
Don't let it upset you, or bug you, or fret
Just listen to Dr. Old Hippie;
Just swallow those medicines every day,
Your condition is 'chronic'? Well, yippee!
I know just the cure; a  medicinal herb guaranteed to help you to forget..
Now, what was I saying? Hey, look! There's a bird!
I wonder what sort it might be.
It might be a sparrow...there are more! It's a crowd!
The fridge is a-callin' me near.
"Come on, got cold chicken! it cries out so loud
It's the only sound that I can hear.
You can rest when you're inside your burial shroud!
The munchies have kicked in. Oh, dear!

(this poem suspended until further notice, gotta go eat everything I can get my hands on...)

Ah, yes... I know it well!

Always look on the light side of life
(Whistle)

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing
And...

Always look on the bright side of life
(Whistle)
(Come on!)
Always look on the right side of life
(Whistle)
Always look on the bright side of death
(whistle)
Just before you draw your terminal breath
(whistle)For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin
Give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow

So always look on the bright side of death
(Whistle)
A-Just before you draw your terminal breath
(Whistle)

Life's a piece of s**t
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true
You'll see it's all a show
keep 'em laughin'' as you go, but
Remember that the last laugh is on you and...

this makes me want to spark a j haha. i love the atmosphere you create in your work, this lighthearted tightrope between the wisdom of age and the joy of youth, an old soul who discovered the foundation of youth. good for you for doing what you want, if you were closer i'd say we should have a smoke sess haha i feel everyone could learn a lot from you. keep writing & stay wise

I was a hippie without the benefits :) Having said that, if in my old age I should fail to get relief from muscle and joint pain, who knows I could be tempted. It doesn't do your figure much good though with all that eating, but that is probably the last thing to worry about. You make misbehaving sound like fun angel:)

Tis those munchies that are the eventual downfall of many a slender young hippie.. and don't we know it.. but don't everything taste nice.. and don't everything feel good.. Yeah,yeah,yeah,yeah...

Part of the fun in misbehaving, is the misbehaving.. followed by the munchies of course.... How very, very nicely put angel.... Neville

heh. Ya seem to have remembered the fridge... good advice creatively proffered in verse, all lessons in life should be learned in a like manner. No matter what mood your readers stop by in A, you give them a heapin' helping of FUN and send them merrily on their way. Excellent.

Thank you! There's plenty to choose from.
what a night to read this...i seem to have an endless appetite for snacking tonight...

a case of the munchies...sometimes they just hit.

and yes, misbehaving can be such fun...and life is too short not to do a little of it. Or, a lot of it.

Hahaha! This is so upbeat and funny angel. Great flow, rhythm, rhyme and musicality. Puts a new slant on ‘one a day vitamins’! Life can get so heavy at times that we all need a break to just b-r-e-a-t-h-e and “forget it” as you point out with humor and gusto. And at this age forgetting comes easy!

Right...remember to remember.
Not so sure we have to think about forgetting it
As the years pile on, it happens automatically
