So I write

So I write

A Poem by Angie G
"

My life isn't over. Much more to write.

"

So I write, not because I'm good or have eloquent words.
I write because I've lived, loved, lost and forgiven.

I've lived happy moments that inspired my soul. The moment I became a mother for the first time. Smiled at the infinate beauty life had offered me. Was given gifts that became my world. So I write.

I've loved more than I could have imagined. At times I was loved, and others my love was taken for granted. Leaving me with profound sadness. But in the end finding my soul mate. So I write.

I've lost countless times. Lost good friends and much loved relatives. In some instances left broken to pick up the pieces. Losing myself in self pity and hatred. And I became the person I swore I'd never become. So I write.

I've forgiven those that did me wrong. For some took from me what no one should ever lose. Making excuses for them, in order to understand the why's.

Yet, having lived, loved, and lost, I still haven't forgiven myself.

So I write.

This is a good way to express how & why you write. You've presented the highs & lows of a typical life. I believe you weren't trying to make this into a literary gem, but just a conversational expression. To expand on this, it would be interesting to include more details and not just generalities. Show me what these happy moments look like and show me what the infinite beauty of life is like in your way of seeing it. This is a great start and it could be stretched by not speaking so much in platitudes (which is forgettable writing, to be honest). Fondly, Margie
