Half Way Gone

Steffen:[she looks at her parents in the hostpitle bed letting tears fall;she held her breath before looking at the doctors sadly before hearing the horrible news] Are they......? [she stopped, hoping the doctor would understand what she was getting at]

Doctor:[nodding slowly trying to keep tears from falling himself] Sorry. I truly am.

Steffen:[shaking her head] No. You didn't do anything to them. It's okay. It was there time I guess. I just wished it didn't have to end like this. A random drunk man shooting.

Police:[walks into the room;holding a piece of paper] Are you Steffen Core?

Steffen:[turns to him] Who's asking?

Police:Me. Officer McCain.

Steffen:[nodding]

Office McCain: I'm sorry to say this but it was not just a 'random drunk man shooting' Steffen, but this man by the name Kirsten Pen shot your parents because of money. He claims his family's after you now.

Steffen: What's gonna happen to me than? I have no family.

Officer McCain: I have already though that trough. There's a family in New York waiting for you. They where your parents old friends. It's a woman, a man and two kids. There are both boys.

Steffen:Okay. When am I leaving?

Officer McCain: Monday night. [leaves the bedroom and talks to the doctor]

Steffen:[looking at her parents] I love you mommy and daddy. I will never forget you.

Office McCain:[comes back into the room;holds out his hand] Come on, Steffen. I have to get you back home now so the other police men can do resourse.

Steffen:Okay. [goes with him]
