I think of you

This is a poem i wrote for my mom's 59th birthday. It is about how little things throughout my day remind me of her and how those little things will always remind me of her. I hope you like it!

When I hear the birds beautiful songs coming from the trees,

I think of you

When I look out the window to see the lovely bed of flowers,

I think of you

When I feel alone or scared,

I think of you

When I feel like crying

I think of you

 

There are so many little things that remind me of you.

The birds remind me of your soothing voice

The flowers remind me of the beauty you spread to the world

You’re always in my head

Your memory of your hug calms me when I am scared

And your smile cheers me up when I am depressed

I appreciate every moment that we spend together

And I will always cherish each memory we will make

Soon it will just be you and me

I cannot wait

Through the rest of my life when I am at college and have my own house,

Each time I hear a bird’s song

I will think of you

Every time I see a flower

I will think of you

Because of you I can never feel completely alone or scared

Your smile will always be a memory to cheer me up

This is one of the many birthdays you will have

But through them all you need to remember

I will always be thinking of you.

please give me your opinion on this poem. Remember i am only 14 though. I tried very hard, but give me advice on what i could change. Also i might want to write a short story or fan fiction, poems are not my favorite thing to write. What do you think?
