A Poem by nathan

All I have ever known about you is stern looks
whenever my impish nature tried to kick in,
All I have ever known about you is bills you paid
then fade into indifference,
All I have ever known about you is threats
when you wanted to have you way
All I have ever known is fear
as your steps hit the walkway-
hearts chocked with rampart dread
one step, then the next...
Strides beating like a funeral tom...and then....
Dad's home!
comes mother's voice.
All I have ever known about you is dissension
The unsatisfied look that lingers in your eyes
the unsavoury words so quick to let fly
the tears that always follow your compliments
and false modesty offensive like a cheap suit.
Yep, that's all I've ever known about you
And you still want me to call God 'father'???
Not a chance!!!
because all I have ever known about you hurts.
