You used to be a friend

But don't know when,

Those feelings became different,

Just like love, for the first time.

 

Told me to be careful about this feeling,

Blocked me from loving you a bit,

But my confession still found its way to you,

A little hasty, a lot late and pushed you away.

 

Yes, you are the one, Only you,

That I love, more than myself,

My heart feels empty, my tears keep falling

Although I know your heart has someone else.

 

But it's true, it's only you,

Can't you give me a chance, just for once,

I'm trying hard to become like before,

A friend you lean on, a friend you adore.

 

But I'm still waiting, for you to come,

To smile for me, to lean on me,

As love or as friends before,

And I'm still waiting, Still,

For you, Only you.

Author's Note

They say love is the greatest feeling......but for me it's the friendship, which is not as selfish and possessive as love rather is comforting and warm like the winter sun.

Hi is a very nice poem and it also comes across as if the protagonist in the poem is trying to stifle the cough of upon intended in a metaphor way of speaking, or if the other person casted a love spell and the protagonist is sophicated with love.
