Daffodil

Daffodil

A Poem by Chirag Kumar

Daffodil

The sun beams
with an aura aloud.
The sky sports a smile
with teeny weeny clouds.

The air moves around,
carrying the fragrance of earth.
And I wonder why my daffodil
is lacking in her mirth.

Days are growing short,
and nights slowly slowly long.
But changing moods with seasons,
is a decision gone wrong.

If you crib about the day,
see the green fields swoon.
If you curse the night,
breathe in the light of the moon.

Dear, there will be times down,
there will be times high.
But never ever yearn
for moments to cry.

Yes, we all make mistakes.
But learning is what matters.
So open up your petals,
rather than lying in tatters.

Watch the baddy wolves around,
as they prey on the ignorant.
Be the brave flower of the damp lands.
Take them on with your dissent.

And as the shy sun sets,
the moon rises to shine.
Sleep tight, O my daffodil,
with your spirits sublime.
