Bottle of Rain

Bottle of Rain

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

The end of one love is the beginning of another.

"

I've come to bury the last of love

beneath this willow tree

In the deep forest I went

where no one else could see

___________________________

Held within this bottle of rain

are the tears I cried for her

The many nights I couldn't sleep

as I dreamed of how we were

___________________________

I'll place on it no pictures

spin thrice to forget the way

Save in me the pain she flowered

leave the dark for light of day

___________________________

I'll never visit her again

forever play all day in the sun

But night when no one else is there

I'll cry of her as the one

Tate

Such quiet and sorrowful pictures you paint. I feel as if I walk through your pain with you and feel the breeze within the willow you buried her under. Such a shattered heart makes everything so quiet, no? Such a strong piece, with the focus of a single journey, as a tear from eye to ground. I weep with you.

Your poem has left me exhausted, so full of pain that I felt so fully...this bottle of rain that you buried beneath the willow tree seems to haunt you at night, and I suppose that is how love lost leaves us.

This is so sensibly written; with very simple rhyming schemes and characters. But it leaves a strong message. Great job.

Excellently put, Tate. The anguish, the pain and the helplessness, everything is abrupt. My favorite lines -

"I'll place on it no pictures.
Spin thrice to forget the way.
Save in me the pain she flowered.
Leave the dark for light of day."

:) Keep writing buddy.

The first and the last stanzas are the marvels, with the last one really touching!
"I'll never visit her again .
Forever play all day in the sun.
But night when no one else is looking.
Ill cry of her as the one."

Love it!
