Warm Hearth

Warm Hearth

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

An autumn robbed by winters chill Makes way for loveless cold The winter flakes upon my sill Tell this young man he is old

"
Becky and I

Now that the summer’s light is gone

winter's dark shadows appear

The morning lit by cool white dawn

stays away another year

An autumn robbed by winters chill

makes way for the loveless cold

The winter flakes upon my sill

tell this young man that he's old

Each year passes onto the next

quicker than the one before

As now we place it here in text

loving hearts each wanting more

I mourn no more my wasted years

they leave no sound as they go

I remember no lonesome fears

as I gaze on home fires glow

The winter cold can do no harm

to the warm hearth built of life

Created of strength, love and charm

The waiting arms the good wife

The winter chill is much warmer and less biting to me this year. Having gotten married I see sunshine everywhere nowadays.

Lovely, warming, poem. The cold melts away when you can share the warmth with a loved one.
Beautifully presented as always.

Winter does remind me of getting older, and finding love is like the coming of Spring, great comparisons.

This poem states exactly what the feeling is. The truth, the path, the warmth, the love. When you finally find it, you will know the path leading before was all worth while. Thanks for expressing it so eloquently Tate.

Powerful metaphors all around especially liked-- the "warm hearth" comparison to the "arms of the good wife". That speaks volumes on so many different levels-- Excellent work!

Great work! Time does pass and much more enjoyably so when you have loving arms to spend it in. Uplifting piece.

Hi Tate,

A nice one. Lots of beautiful lines. My favorite is:

"The winter cold can do no harm
to the warm hearth of our life"

As always, beautiful sentiment. This is a hallmark of your poetry.

Very best wishes, my friend. A beautiful poem that was greatly enjoyed.

Rick
