The Writers Cafe Virus

The Writers Cafe Virus

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Why is it we all tolerate what in real life we would not take The art of being someone’s friend just to use them for our own sake

"

When did we ever say that we

regulate anonymity

Nor wish it on another soul

to bestow mediocrity

This virus if allowed to grow

will infect each and every one

With the feeling of helplessness

hiding the dark within the sun

We lose good people everyday

tired of wondering on their friends

They will keep fleeing from this site

until this childishness here ends

I can't speak for everyone

but for myself I will say this

I would never let a nightmare

send me off to the great abyss

Why is it we all tolerate

what in real life we would not take

The art of being someone’s friend

just to use them for your own sake

If you can't find it in yourself

to be truthful open and kind

You are wrong simply to assume

that we are all deaf, dumb and blind

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
We all want the same thing here.To meet and share with friends. I say we stop tolerating this nightmare that never ends. Some will say I should not be so upset .Let it roll off.But I have never lain down for abuse. I would rather be knocked down.
A man can always take comfort
in the things he must abide
To look in the mirror fallen
taking resp-it from that he tried

Lately the bad actors are coming out of the woodwork and i am half tempted to open a site just to list each and every one of their names for the sake of the good people here.
Today one of these vermin trashed the work of David Lewis Paget. I say enough is enough! Even if it means we have to publicly out them !

Most know who the main problem is on here. Desbest said it well. For a while this virus was abated, but it is like Herpes and it keeps coming back. I have no problem blocking and ignoring, but it gets uncomfortable not knowing who you can trust. I just purged approx 75 people from my list of "friends." I will not leave because of a few trouble makers. As a few of us have concurred that this is a social experiment. Konsor lets anything go. Like Animal Farm or Lord of the Flies!

yes, I'm becoming more and more disheartened with this site as the days go on!! there are many viruses on here that I've come across, but it is simple to avoid them, with the block button!! (though some are persistent ha)

Yes it really is a virus. I remember how bad the virus got months ago, and how it got curbed. I don't want the Part 2, 3, 4 and 5. People are making a mockery of this website. This infantile behaviour is not why we're here. We're here because we want to better ourselves, and be good writers.

This is a good poem. What happened, I am guessing that someone on this site has been abusive to you? I am sorry to hear that. You are an excellent writer and should not be discouraged. I understand, though. I recently had a bad experience on a completely different site, a music forum, where I was attacked and insulted and more, and it really made me feel dreadful. Not so much because these people were rude to me, but it depresses me that there are people out there who are so insecure that they feel the need to run others down and make them feel bad, in order to boost their own egos. It's a fairly pitiful state of affairs for such an advanced species!

I like your structure and rhyme scheme in this poem, it's simple and effective, and it doesn't drown the content.

Oh yes!! Well said. "If you cant find it in yourself to be truthful open and kind, You are wrong simply to assume that we are all deaf dumb and blind." I love that! And it can be applied to life as well as here in Writer's Cafe.

Which is why I have seen only certain people read my stuff. I write for God & others & well for myself too, I guess. I am beginning now to not care how many people read my stuff (because WC made me that way) but now I focus on who reads my stuff. Loyal friends... Sorry for being distant & not reading much of others stuff, incl yours. However I must say that since I have blocked requests. I know who wants me to be their friends because they send me theirs & I will in return send to them wanting them to be mine.. You are a loyal friend & appreciated the last message you sent to me ... FRIEND!

I try to stay positive at all times. I'm a old writer and old Soldier. To hurt my feeling you must go deep. I believe kindness and friendship will go a long way. I tell the young writers to keep writing. I was told by a school newspaper when I was in school. You can't write. It pissed me off and I became the best writer they had. A powerful poem with a good message. Negative in the wrong way don't help anyone. I believe if you don't like something. Sent a e-mail.
