A Dry Spell

A Dry Spell

A Poem by Amila Jay
"

Insane in the membrane

"

 Wake up hungry

To sip on the morning tea

Regular

An hour pass

On TV

Last weeks clothes

Hung on the screen

Bathed in scent

Still looking good

Gum in mouth

To freshen the breath

Socks smell heavenly

Re-checked on that

Another dash of scent

Broken watch

Stopped at three

Forgot how to put a knot

Hole in the shoe

Clothes in briefcase

Laptop in the bathtub

Phone in the sink

And the boss is going

Pick, pick, pick

Where are my keys?

Flushed down the toilet?

Oh! Why bother

I mailed it to my mother

Late to work again

Finally managed to finish it. A bit of comedy here, though sometimes this sought of thing can be true. Thanks to all those who read and review:-)

This poem is more then a dry spell. Bad luck and a lot of terrible situations. I like the flow of words and the ending. Thank you for the excellent poem.
