Love's lost its lust

Love's lost its lust

A Poem by Amila Jay
"

Love in an hourglass

"

Love’s lost its lust my dear

And I’ve been keeping this dust for years

Counting the grains one by one

From dusk to dawn

Till my eyes turned red

I drank it all down

Nothing more to give

Nothing more to take

Now that I’ve accepted

That it’s all just a game

Love’s lost its lust my dear

This is a wonderful write...I can feel the deep emotions conveyed in such a few lines...I can relate to this when your soul is jaded...I've been through the worst break up, many years ago and all the drama that came with it...I was born from that...a player for life...I hope not...only one can wish a heart settles.

Beautiful poetry spoken from the depths of your soul. Excellent.

It isnt easy to tell love from lust sometimes
however there a way top tell
False love seeks not to please
laughing at another in delight
Joys in an-others loss of ease
creating Hell in Heavens respite
_____________________________

True love seeks not itself to please
while for itself has not a care
But to another grants it's ease
creating Heaven in Hell's despair

love's lost its lust...ahhh - it feels as if we all meet this fork in the road ~ the erotic expression dulls after the novelty wears off and we question if love is the game or the keeping of intense lust.

There is so much truth in this. If you are blinded by lust and it gets mistaken for love....you will be left with disappointment and regret once it loses it's hold over you.

Good poem, a bit like a Sonnet, a bit Shakespearian, lots of alliteration and a neat last line.Good work.

Absolutley heartbreaking. Your language is so deeply emotive, the scope immense. And you handle it in just a few lines. One can hope it's immaginative, but either way it is an exceptional work.

Very NICE!! I love this piece... Conveyed with dignity!..You have expressed an acceptance of the game of love, and that you're done with it. Nice write!
