Inflation

Inflation

A Poem by Ender
"

I want to give a feeling in this poem - the want to land for security - on ground's earthy home.

"

Up in atmosphere,

my pressuring fear lifted me.

Anxiety was helium

and no oxygen to spare:

as I - inflated - skywards.

To the far reaches

that only sky scrappers -

scrapped - I soared with wind...

drifting me to destinations

that turmoil guided in glee.

Expeditious were all worries:

giving my mind a search for answers -

but - gave only to more

sceneries of oceans,

glade,

and mountains below.

Tunneling jet streams,

were no mere gestures of kindness

nor was the persecution's gale -

to pull, push, and aerodynamically drag -

to sea shores and cities.

West to east, and south to north -

cardinal directions - mapping my

itinerary of disdain pleasures.

Seeing no familiarity,

in towns, I was set in cloud's confusion.

Haze,

mist,

and fog, and all other accumulation of vapor -

got me wet with sadness -

seeing no point to land my dangling,

feet.

My greatest scare,

was to float, in the northern heavens -

boundlessly amidst - vacuum and void.

But than at least... I will have solar winds,

to give me the ultimate - traveling - blight.
