Get It Right

I don't know what I thought I'd get but I know I didn't get it. I know I saw the signs, but I went in another direction. I wish that I could kill these thoughts, but they're firmly embedded in my mind.
I honestly thought I'd get it right this time.

I understand this way of thinking all too well, and despite the exceptionally short length of this poem I still find it quite well written and thought-provoking. I believe that you deserve some praise. That can be a difficult thing for some writers to do in so few words.
