Confliction

Confliction

A Poem by ashleymarie

She's lying
Does she think I'm stupid?
I know she's not clean
God, now she's crying
Seriously? She's the one who walked out
She hasn't even apologized
I'm trying to hide the pain in my voice
She doesn't even know me
She keeps playing these mind games
Yet again, I feel the need to believe her
But she's lying

I'm lying
I think she can tell
She's asking if I'm clean
I cannot help but cry
I didn't want to leave. I had no choice.
I hope she knows I'm sorry
I can tell something is wrong
I want to make up the years I've missed
I swear I want to change
I need her to trust me
But I'm lying.
