Only for You

Only for You

A Poem by Ashlene Singh
"

I tend to think about other's before myself.

"
As I stand by the water's edge,
I hold my hand close to my heart.
Inside I make secret pledge,
That nothing will break us apart.
For you I pray for happiness,
And for anything you may need.
I pray that god takes your distress,
And washes it away with the sea.
But what I ask for most of all,
Is for you to look inside.
And to see how much I broke my heart,
To keep yours perfectly fine.
Heart break is the death of my soul,
As my heart turns to hardened coal.
