Hope

Hope

A Poem by Ashlene Singh
"

Hope is something that is hard to describe. When you lose it nothing is right. The peace you get from finding hope makes life worth living.

"

Truth be told, I've been in the cold,

Dark shadows, terror inside, my mind scrambled, covered in fog, but I found some hope inside.

As I got up from the black floors I stumbled upon a step, gold in colour in shined in my eyes, and out released my regret.

It glimmered as it called my name to take a leap of faith,

I lifted my feet and settled it down knowing that I will escape.

The warmth of the step, took the cold away and filled me with great joy, help has come and now has begun my journey to a new place.

I peered down at the cold well floor and lifted my head up high, finally this little trap bird will begin to learn to fly.

Good work here. I love it. Its beautiful. The imagery is awesome. Very well written. Great way to express how it feels when all hope is lost and you find that one thing that will give you hope again. A job well done.
