heat lightning

heat lightning

A Poem by jaye river

heat lightning, scattering across the sky,

we’re drifting like low hanging clouds,

late at night, my my my

heat lightning, they don’t see it touch the ground,

they’re too far to feel the shock and hear the sound,

late at night, my my my

your talk is cheap and i’m broke as hell, so i’ll

take what i can get and what i get of you i’ll keep,
heat lightning, humid midnight dream drifting off to sleep

Some of my best writes are spontaneous. It doesn’t happen often, but I like spontaneity. This piece I very much enjoyed. You brought me heat, thunder and lightning. The sky lit up and the thunder rolled. A humid night.

thank you for reading!
A little welcome heat, sadly many are without that and much more, it's a most divided world for sure..

Comforting brevity!
