Something missing

Something missing

A Poem by Lily E. Lin

Something feels missing
Among these temperate lies
These facilitated ties
Perhaps,
The feeling of absence
Is due to a newfound want
Of acceptance, of hope
And so,
Something feels missing
A space on the plains
Vacuumed clean, waiting
For a stroke of the brush
To fill in the blank with
Color! Texture. Creation,
Something substantive
Yet,
The quality of a vacuum
Is that it cannot ever be filled
This something that feels missing
A perpetual nagging
Like a hollow ringing
In the overtones of an ever-playing
Song.

I liked this , I guess we all can relate to the feeling of something missing and you put it to words that really punctuate the point .

Hmm...
This is REALLY cool - quite unique, the metaphors and such.
I'm sure that a lot of teenagers can relate to this piece...feeling the lack of originality, or speciality about oneself.
Nice flow, & an easy read.
Thanks for Sharing.
