It Hurts

It Hurts

A Poem by Lily E. Lin

It hurts
Scalding, dripping
Wax melting, boiling
Upon likewise flaccid skin-like
Coverings slipping,

It hurts
Bandages being ripped away
Revealing the ugliness crawling
Beneath, between crevices
Bridged with half-formed scabs
Blackened, molting
Shells cracking,

It hurts
Its breaking
The doll lost, forgotten
Fragmenting into dust
Sandstorm's brewing
And lost in the turmoil
In the confusion, is
Smothered crying
Barely whispers
It hurts.

Very descriptive and potent.. the fast pace of this captured my imagination with the bitter sweet elixir that was used to forge the lines. Good write!

Lipless thoughts...however, I was able to feel and see every word of this poem. It was very dark and heavy, yet original and beautifully written. Great job! Keep exercising your wonderful gift!

This poem was full of agonizing pain. It was beautiful and tragic. Every word came from the heart and it was very emotional. You really dug deep with this one and it shows. Great write. 100% all the way.

About
I suppose I should talk a bit about myself. Writing has long been one of my outlets of expression. I write to vent. That said, I enjoy the intricacies of the word, though it may be a double edged s.. more..
