A Poem by Laura E. Aranda
"

In search of a Rondelet, written for a contest.

"

Mothers Weep

For sons creating criminal lives

Mothers weep

Into their hearts thoughts of failure seep

Stolen car, hidden gun, bloody knife

Their sons estinguish another's life

Mothers Weep

 Tears

I have no idea what a Rondslet is, but I loved the emotion packed in such a short piece. Beautiful. Rain..
PS..minor typo.." extinguish "

Interesting read. Is it wrong for parents to blame themselves? If not, then that means they should have done something differently, and that's not always easy to pinpoint.

I'm not sure what a Rondelet is but the poem itself is fantastic. You have eccentually captured the shame, and hurt of a mother watching her child descend into the life of a criminal. I myself have not had to experience this but I have known some who have and it has torn their world apart.

Beautiful poem Laura. This goes to my fav's.
Good luck in the contest.

I don't know this poetry rule, I don't like rules, but who ever is running your contest I'm sure will tell you if you did it right or not.

The poem itself is excellent. I know what a mother feels when she watches her baby grow to be a stranger in the things he decides to do in life.

Nice write.

Print was just a it small for me though.

Well I don't know much about the format but I think the piece is very powerful in it's statement that crimes not only effect the victim but many others including the criminals family... wow very well done.
