Reliving

Reliving

A Poem by Laura E. Aranda
"

Being here at this school teaching reminds me of my school days

"

Foggy mornings

cloaking us in

cold quilts of wet

streetlamps glow

orange and misty gray

we glide as if in slow motion

classes drowsy and lethargic

dreams ebbing still

so close to the surface

as day decides to sleep in

yawns become songs

we all know how to sing

A very soft mood of a poem. Nice job! I liked it!

This is nice so far, but Laura I can relive a time when you wrote some straight heat. I understand those fickle Muses come and go, so I will wait with an unquenchable poetic appetite for your next scorcher! ;-)

really good images in this poem. as i read it i could "glide in slow motion" and enter in to the time of the poem. Like going to college for that eight oclock class. it might work better however with the fog being colder? though quilts do show how fog has an insulating aspect. well anyway, it is very good. bye raining

That is really a classic piece of writing, very warm and sentimental... I know every time I drive by my old school how the memories flood back. Wonderfully done.
