A is for Austen who formed women's joy
B is for Byron who created "bad boys"
C is for Coleridge who's ballads were huge
D is for Dickens who gave us a Scrooge
E is for Eliot who sung of Prufrock
F is for Foxe; martyrs under the rocks
G is for Golding; kids subjected by Flies
H is for Hitchcock; made us scared by bird cries
I is for Isherwood who waved by to Berlin
J is for Jerome with a boat three men were in
K is for Keats who loved a Grecian urn
L is for Lewis and Aslan's return
M is for Malory with his Arthurian tales
N is for Nesbit and children on rails
O is for Orwell; watch out for Big Brother
P is for Potter with Peter and Mother
Q is for Quiller who compiled English Verse
R is for Rowling who gave us Hogwarts to traverse
S is for Shakespeare who compared to summer days
T is for Tennyson who wrote of Light Brigades
U is for Uttely and her Little Grey Rabbit
V is for Vatchell; Quinneys in the States didn't quite make it
W is for Wordsworth who went to Tintern Abbey
X I'm afraid is absent from this little mix
Y is for Yeatman with 1066
Z is for Zangwill who went under "Z"

I know it seems awkward in some parts but it was quite hard to make "appropriate" rhymes with some of the authors
