A Poem by a wildfire
"

some words about home.

"

i've been thinking some about you-
your cold winters,
vibrant autumn colors,
and never-ending spring.
i've been remembering some things about you-
shuffling my feet in the snow
and realizing its too cold for my old worn out shoes.

my feet feel grounded here but i sure do miss your mountains,
and the breeze passing by your rivers, the smell of dirt and dead fish,
i left my heart there buried between your rocks and empty clamshells.
if only i could resurrect the child that i've left so far behind
i know you must remember her. you knew her best of all.
