Secret Escape

Secret Escape

A Story by Sami

Bright, warm, golden sun can change to pure black clouds within a nanosecond. Here it never matters what the time of day is, this secret escape will never fail. There are no walls to keep me confined in a playpen; it’s a never ending open space like a field in the prairie. Mainly I wander into a scene where the air welcomes me with warmth; the ground is covered in green grass cut days before. I can smell the newly cut grass faintly lingering about. I relax on a rather large multicolored rock and daydream about the future. Here I’m satisfied with everything. But occasionally the baby blue sky will turn grey and the clouds will cry. Drops of water gently tap my skin and stain my shirt. As the liquid touches the grass it fades to black. Now the scene consists of three colors; black, white and grey. An overwhelming sadness has taken over. Eventually the storm will pass but sometimes it’s replaced with bright orange glowing embers that swiftly turn into a raging fire. Flames now consume my scene. Still sitting on the rock the fire jumps at me and burns my flesh. Inside I feel like the hulk as anger builds within my body. Soon the sun will shine brightly again. Purple flowers appear in the green grass this time. Birds of all kinds sing their loudest making a lullaby of sounds. In the distance I can see neon fish leaping out of the blue ocean. Here is where I’m the happiest. Although people can visit my secret escape they never stay, because only I know the map of the land. Day by day as the sun rises and sets the scenery changes. From a beautiful, breathe taking beach, to a piercing cold blizzard in the arctic. I can teleport from place to place, as if I were a bird soaring high among the sweet cotton candy clouds. My imagination can take me anywhere
