Thunder

Thunder

A Poem by Bane of Fortune
"

an experiment waiting for class to start

"

Thunder crash and lightning streak

Sky above and mirror creek

Hammer strike and shield flex

Sinews taught and grim respects

Let blood fly and bones crack

Field and forest in death black

I stand alone with hammer high

Await ascent into dark sky

The roar has ceased and the world is calm

My heart is thunder, my shield, my palm

Spirits rise from souls now dead

Like wraiths and demons, screaming heads

Blood lays black upon the field

I lay myself upon my shield

And wait.
