A Poem by Zach

If i was a worm,
i'd be stranded on this cold concrete;
with all of my friends-
and i can't help a single one of them!

we're all far away,
On this rigid asphalt - discrete;
and this wet spineless body can't seem
to help you again!

Oh my soul!
How i wish you were close to me!
How i wish we would've washed up on that same sidewalk!
How i wish we would've rolled together as one!
Then maybe the birds would mistake us for a twig-
or at least we would exist for more than our own.

And though i have five hearts-
not one has capacity to love!
If we weren't so far apart -
GOD! please would You be enough!

"The water ebbs and flows,
and so does your heart.
But oh, worm! I want you to know
that I set you apart!"

Can't you hear those birds chirping?
They know more than how to woo.
And i know i'm just a worm,
but let me show you who is true.
