Chapter 1: Meet the Crew

Chapter 1: Meet the Crew

A Chapter by Bay Jett

There was a loud rumbling sound as a 1992 Seagrave sped throught the town,Sirens screaming, lights blinding the whole truck is a red blur against the midnight LA County sky. Inside the cab there was six guys, two in the front jumpseats and four on the bench seat in the back. The four in the back turned around to face out of the front window and when they did they reveled the back of their ashened yellow jackets that had

LA County Fire Station 143 on the back. On the bottom of the jackets read four names Dock, Jett, Quinn and LaDuke.

"You guys ready, we have a hot one tonight." yelled the driver of the truck.

"I guess that means we got to gear up." yelled the firefighter with Jett on his jacket.

"You sure are a smart one Bay."

"Well i try." yelled back the firefighter named Bay

"Hey you p*****s stop your gabbing and gear up." yelled the passanger

"Yes Battalion Chief Swan sir." yelled all the men from the back except for the one with the last name Quinn.

All the guys in the back got geared up, putting on their scotts and black helmets that signified they were privates.Lastly they buckled their helmet's chin strap and put on their gloves.

"Hey Rookie tonight you ready to pop your virgin fire cherry." yelled LaDuke.

" Umm i guess." responded the rookie aka the firefighter with Quinn on his jacket.

"You guess boy." yelled Bay Jett.

"Boy you better stay close to LaDuke and don't get yourself killed." yelled the only remaining guy who hasn't talked, Dock

"Oh go easy on him Kyle, at least we didn't get the other rookie who went to Station 177." yelled LaDuke so they could hear him over the scott mask they all adorned.

"Yeah that idot nearly killed Jeff from Engine 88." added Bay

"Hey that;s my brother." defended Quinn

"Well kid he's a f*****g idot, and if you ever do something that stupid i won't hesitate to kick you off for good." yelled B.C. Swan from the passanger seat of the truck.

"Yes sir." responded Quinn

"Aahhh, you guys are making him whipped, how will he ever stand up for himself." yelled the driver.

"Shut up and drive Lt. Marshal." yelled B.C. Swan.

There was a few minutes of silence in the cab as everyone prayed that everyone will be going home.

A very nice way of getting the reader involved in your story. Only one little picky thing, where it reads: "yelled back the firefighter named Berry" it would read cleaner if it was just said "yelled back the firefighter" because the reader infers the name is Berry. Other than that I think you off to a good start. Good luck
