Through a Door

Through a Door

A Poem by Nathan Betterman

I walked through a door
Into a room so bright
I will be there no more
Dealing with the fight

It shines, it glimmers
Oh what a sight
There is no darkness
Ha, you guessed it, no night

But even though I see
Beauty and Grace
There is still a part of me
That needs to leave the old place

It clings like sweat
It holds to your heart
Without it, you fret
From it you can’t live apart

But still there is the dawn
That reminds us to not fear
Which guides us towards the sun
To lands far more dear

Let the past be gone,
And let the old be through.
Let my guilt be done,
And Your forgiveness be true.

I like the last four lines...they describe forgiveness of the past so well. Good job. Thank you for sharing. Debileah
