Symphony (my cat is an airplane)

I write melodies on my dreams,
sing a song of sorrow that brings tears
to anyone who cares enough to listen.
My music is a symphony of voices
written over one another until
the pieces of me are interwoven
and knit so tightly together
I might unravel at your touch.

I am a rebellious composition,
swinging up and down across
the unexpected while my cat
soars above my words like
an airplane above the clouds,
(which I'll write about only
because you told me not to),
and my own voice is grounded
as I try to fly.

I leave imprints on the soul,
reach so deep that I can touch
your secrets and make you
both love and hate my song
for knowing the true you,
because I am the song
that leaves you breathless.

Author's Note

I want you to compare yourself to one thing. ONE THING. There can be multiple reasons why you are that thing, but only compare yourself to one thing (noun, I mean. Preferably a place or a thing, though it can be a person). It can be any format or style, as long as it's about YOU. I don't want to hear about how your neighbor is like a robin, or how your cat is like a plane (though I don't exactly know how you'd work that one out). I want to read about what YOU think YOU are most like.
